Barbara is not only an experienced CPA, but an accomplished businesswoman. She initially owned and operated a nursery school for 15 years—a business she launched in 1981, prior her graduation from the University of Maryland. She grew her pre-school to accommodate 60 children and employed as many as 12 people. Barbara’s drive to better understand and improve her own business led her to become a Certified Public Accountant (C.P.A.) in 1991.
Since earning her CPA, Barbara has been a corporate controller as well as a consultant to clients in several industries, including Construction, Manufacturing, and State & Federal Government Contracting. In 2010, Barbara launched her current business as a sole proprietor to address the needs of individual taxpayers as well as business owners and non-profit organizations. She specializes in providing affordable services and often supports businesses not yet large enough to keep a controller and other financial advisors on staff. Barbara also engages in over 100 hours of specialized tax training each year to ensure that her clients receive the best service possible.
In the last 2 years Barbara’s practice has expanded to provide virtual office management and bookkeeping as well as estate planning services through carefully selected strategic partners. To reflect this growth she re-branded her business as B Zimmer & Company.

Jodi has over 20 years’ experience in a variety of office management services, including contract management, bookkeeping, administration and human resources. Before starting her own company, Jodi also served as a CFO.
With her extensive experience, Jodi understands a wide range of business types and their unique needs. Some of the industries she has worked with include: Information Technology, Law Firms, Construction, Physicians, Web Marketing, Consulting, and Retail. Due to her vast experience in all phases of running companies, she is able to finely tune your company as the bookkeeping progresses and the information is provided.
